The Catering Insight Hot 100

Catering Insight the monthly business magazine serving the commercial catering industry has launched a new annual event to find the industries Hot 100 stars. They are looking to recognise and award outstanding individuals and teams for their contributions to the catering industry this year. The categories of the awards are: Industry Innovators– Innovation comes in many forms, technological advancement, internal process reengineering, sales and marketing wizardry. This category of the Hot 100 recognises the industry’s most creative thinkers. Business Big Shots– The industry leaders from all sectors of the foodservice sector that are generating the greatest revenues and profits. Unsung Heros– Behind every Business Big Shot are legions of workers that keep the industry thriving. You’ll find them in the marketing department, finance office, on site installing equipment or on the road driving sales. Rising Stars– The Hot 100 gives companies the opportunity to recognise the future generation of business leaders that are delivering results beyond those expected of the youngest executives. Winning Teams– Family partnerships, departmental groups and project teams are all singled out for recognition. Nominations were welcomed earlier this year and our very own Tim Taylor was very excited to find he had been nominated in the Rising Stars category. Tim started TT Commercial Trading, the umbrella company of which Foster Fridge and Ecomax Catering are part, 6 years ago. Since then he has steadily grown the company into a successful online brand with 3 busy websites, 4 staff members and a large showroom. Tim puts this success down to focusing on customer care and quality of service. “We try to make sure we have a good knowledge of what we sell and can use this to aid customers with making an informed purchase. It gives clients confidence and takes the focus off of price.” The awards were, of course, held at a glamorous London venue at a party for industry’s leading lights back in October. Set to be more than just a party and a great deal more fun than a formal awards dinner the evening promised to be fun as well as informative and productive. The identities of the Hot 100 were a closely guarded secret until the big reveal at the awards ceremony. So, on 9th October, and with an air of expectation Tim got dressed up and headed down to the uber fashionable One Mayfair to the most glamorous event in the British commercial catering equipment calendar. The event was split into two parts, the first half being a spectacular party for the industry heavyweights, the second being the launch of the Hot 100 2012 book containing the profiles of the Hot 100. Needless to say there were a good many interesting and influential people there and some very good networking was done, we’ll keep you posted of interesting business developments that come of it here. The book was also a great success and will be rolling out across the industry, if you want to get a preview of Tim Tayor’s entry in it you can see that here.
