How we use it and why
We use your information to respond to enquiries and prepare quotations, to process, deliver, install and support your order, including warranty work, and to arrange finance where you ask us to. We also use it to keep accurate business records, resolve queries and disputes, train our staff, send marketing emails to existing customers, and understand how our website and advertising perform.
We do this to perform our contract with you or your business, to meet legal obligations such as keeping tax and accounting records, and for our legitimate interests in running and improving our business. We use analytics and advertising cookies only with your consent.
Call recording
We record telephone calls to and from our business lines. We do this to keep an accurate record of what was discussed and agreed, to resolve queries and disputes, and for staff training. We rely on our legitimate interests to do this.
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to provide our products and services. This includes Stripe for card payments, Hobart (ITW) Finance and other finance providers where you apply for finance, couriers for deliveries, our own and third-party engineers for installation, warranty and service work, and the providers of our CRM, email, telephone, live chat and website systems. Google and Meta receive website data where you have accepted their cookies. We do not sell your information.
Some of these providers, including Stripe, Google and Meta, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep customer, order and enquiry records for up to seven years after our last dealings with you, or longer where we need them for a legal claim. We keep call recordings for 12 months. Where a recording relates to a dispute or claim, we keep it until the matter and any related claim are resolved.
